Regulatory Roundup February 8, 2018

The Garrett County Republican reports that the Deep Creek, West Virginia Watershed Sign Committee is preparing to suggest changes to the Garrett County planning commission on how to make the sign code Reed v Gilbert compliant and how to deal with digital signs.  The committee hopes to complete work in time for the Garrett County Planning Commission’s April 3 meeting.

The Island Packet reports that Adams Outdoor wants to build a 14′ by 24′ digital billboard off SC 170 at the Broad River Bridge in Port Royal, South Carolina.  The town council will consider the request on Feb 13.   Adams plans a new regional office on the property in addition to the digital sign.

Insider’s take: Smart of Adams to plan a regional office on the same land where they want to put a digital sign. “We need to look a business every time we can,” says a former town councilman, “I’ve seen other plans for that corner, and none of them are very attractive.”
