With movie theaters remaining closed due to COVID-19, communities are getting creative on ways to still enjoy that Americana tradition of popcorn and a movie.  Some towns still have that classic drive-in movie theater, but some that don’t are constructing their own!

The drive-in movies returned to Kearney NE on June 18th when The World Theatre began “spinning the reels” and motion pictures lit up the big white screen.  The World’s pop-up is utilizing stacked steel shipping containers with a white screen attached thanks to the help of Lind SignSpring and Camel City Posters.  A Kearney couple donated a projector, and Dave Roseberry, manager of the Buffalo County Fairgrounds, agreed to allow movies to be shown in the fairgrounds’ parking lot.

Camel City, Lind SignSpring and Blueprint Engines  – took the idea from concept to realty in 7 days!

The World plans to book family-oriented films and old drive-in favorites, such as “Goonies,” “E.T.” and “Grease”, selling advance tickets.  Films will be shown Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights through the summer.  To learn more behind the story click here.   This is the second movie screen that Lind SignSpring and Camel City have partnered together on!

Lind SignSpring has helped Ohio’s Renaissance Performing Arts put on socially distanced films, sing-alongs and live concerts.  Since the theater was no longer able to host events, the Chair of the Renaissance performing arts group came up with the idea that his friend, John Siegenthaler of Lind Media/Lind SignSpring, could install a BannerFrame Classic wallscape with a blank vinyl on the theatre exterior wall so they could live stream programming from inside the theater so people could watch the shows, social distance and even stay in their cars if they like.   Camel City provided the blank vinyl screen for this initiative.

We’d love to help you put one up in your city!   Find out how simple it can be.
