Inrix: Nationwide Traffic Back to Normal

Inrix reports that US travel returned to normal in the US National Traffic Volume Synopsis #15 for June 20-26, 2020.  Some other highlights.

  • Nationwide US passenger traffic was 100% of pre-covid levels for the week ended June 26.
  • Long hall ruck travel was 99% of normal
  • Local fleet travel was 98% of normal.
  • State level passenger traffic increased in 44 states compared to last week.  You can see your state below.

  1. This is a misleading article. The data treats Wyoming and South Dakota as equal to California and New York for the purpose of calculating an average of 100%. The more interesting information is how many potential customers of OOH ads are back on the road and consuming media? 330 million people are not moving around just as they did before Covid-19 started, so I challenge the headline “Traffic back to normal”.
