How many Flips on your Digital Billboards?

Digital Billboard Owned by Jared Outdoor

A reader asks Billboard Insider how many flips a minute you should run on a digital billboard.  There are three approaches:

Six flips per minute.

Run six 10 second flips per minute on your digital billboards.  This is the Lamar approach.  Sometimes less is more.  It also might make sense for digital billboards with lower occupancy.

Eight flips per minute.

Run eight 7.5 second flips per minute on your digital billboards.  This seems to be the industry standard.  Many sign codes prohibit more than eight flips a minute.

Ten flips per minute.

Run ten 6 second flips per minute on your digital billboards.  This is possible for place based billboards but not allowed on many roadside digital billboards due to restrictive sign codes.

  1. Nationwide average and consumer value for digital vs static.

How does the average impression data compare on a single Digital rotation vs Static billboard at the same basic location? How does the average price compare at the same location nationwide.?
