Last week Herring Outdoor founder Mark Herring told Billboard Insider he’s upgrading his plant to high efficiency light fixtures:

In cap ex, we have continued to upgrade our light fixtures to Holophane LED fixtures.  We tried other brands but Holophane/PanelVue HID’s won in the end.  Also, upgrading our safety features on catwalks/ladders and with spring’s warm weather approaching we are painting our structures as needed.

Replacing old billboard lights with high efficiency LED fixtures can cut your power bill by almost three quarters.  You can achieve a 35-40% risk free return on capital by retrofitting old lights with high efficiency LED’s.

Reliable Electric’s Brian Kline tells Billboard Insider that among independent billboard operators only about half of all lights have been upgraded to high efficiency LED’s.  You can cut electricity use by 76% by switching from 400 watt HID to Holophane LED.  Rebates are diminishing but still available in most markets.  Supply chain issues haven’t impacted Brian’s supply of lights.  You can call Brian Kline at 866-250-6445 or email bkline@reliable-electric.com.
