Who Owns the Design?

On last week’s OAAA legal seminar, Rich Zecchino said Adams Outdoor requires that any creative work Adams generates cannot be used on other platforms.  This idea is to prevent a client from using a small Out of Home ad buy to generate ad creative which is used for Facebook advertising, online advertising or ads in other media.  Adams doesn’t release the creative without compensation.

This is a moot issue for those of you – like Insider – who use third parties to design Out of Home ads and make clients pay for the design.  What about those of you who design the ad in-house?  How do you approach the issue?  Let Insider know using the form below.
