ArtPop works with billboard companies to put art on vacant billboards.  Billboard insider talked with the company’s Founder and Executive Director Wendy Hickey to find out what’s new.

What did ArtPop accomplish in 2021

• ArtPop Street Gallery is now exclusively operating in the Greater 13 county Charlotte North and South Carolina Region as of July 2021. Our full list of Charlotte media partners are Adams Outdoor Advertising, Awedience Media, Charlotte Center City Partners newsstands, Kegerreis Outdoor, Kenjoh, AdLoad Technologies, CEN Media Group, Lamar Advertising of Lenoir, Red Truck Media and of course our anonymous donor who makes it possible to be featured on 36 digital displays at the Charlotte Airport. Over $6mm in ad space for our Class of 2021, truly amazing!  FOARE continues to support our annual Artists U class we provide as a benefit to our Charlotte artists each year.
• We added a new fiscal partner supporting our mission in a impactful way for 3 years, LendingTree Foundation
• We opened a new division of ArtPop Street Gallery, known as Inspiration Projects  and we now many client both individual and corporate art projects, connecting local artists to paid opportunities, creating sustainability for our mission and taking the details off the clients plate so they can just enjoy the finished project.
• Since October of 2020 we have paid local artists over $224,000!  It has been truly amazing to complete 12 projects so far! Completing projects for companies like Salesforce, Lowe’s, Truist Bank, Crescent Communities, Third and Urban and more!
• We announced our year 9 Class of 2022 #ArtPopCLT artists on December 2, 2021 Photo attached.  We also held our first ever Upcycled Fashion Show & 6th annual fundraising event on November 13, we commissioned 9 designers to create fashion from our retired ArtPop artist billboards, it was incredible. Photo attached.  We have started printing our Circle Graphic mini billboard awards on metal.  It is an incredible way to print minis and the OOH industry may love this idea!  The company we use is Lexington, NC based Vivid Metal Prints.
• We are interviewing now and will be hiring our 2nd full time employee!
