What is Your Most Unique Billboard? Grey Vick Builds His in the Water

Have you ever considered which billboard in your market is truly unique? Insider asked that question and last week heard from Jarret Brown.  This week, we hear from Grey Vick of  Grey Outdoor.

Hey, I figured I’d send this over to you guys. An odd sign we own that is actually built in the water off the Scuppernong River bridge in Columbia NC-Highway 64 (near the Outer Banks) We bought this sign in 2015 along with a perpetual easement (I guessed the prior owner thought a hurricane would take it out one day).

You can’t walk to this sign at high tide because the water comes up all around it. If you can notice, the sign is built with dock poles and built like a pier or dock with the poles set and braced together. I don’t think there is any concrete.

It’s a fun sign to climb and easy to get around in there. Kind of like a jungle gym.

Do you have a “unique” billboard you would like to share?  Send your info to me at johnweller@billboardinsider.com. We would love to feature your structure in a future article. Have a good weekend.
