The Non-Profit Which Spends $3 Million/Year on Billboards

Jay Stoltzfus of Christian Aid Ministries (“CAM”) talked about the company’s billboard buying program at the fall IBOUSA meeting.

The Company

CAM is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which ministers to physical and spiritual needs of people around the world.  The company distributes 15-20 million pounds of clothes, Bibles, food and seeds to needy countries.

Billboard Advertising

CAM has been buying billboards since 2006.  It will spend $3.4 million to rent 800+ billboards across the United States in 2019.  23% of the spend will go to independent billboard operators.

The billboards are designed to point people to Jesus and to encourage people to call a help line if they have questions or need answers.

The billboard program is sponsored by individual donors.  Impressions data is a must for CAM because it evaluates buying decisions based on cpm.  Good billboard pictures are also important as every donor who sponsors an entire billboard is sent a picture of the billboard which they are financing.

In addition to renting billboards, CAM will send you vinyl or digital artwork if you have empty billboards on which you wish to install their message.
