SignBird Tuesday Tip – The Best Angles for Your Board

Today we’ll be going over three of the best shots you can get of your Billboard! This week, we’ll be showing you some examples of shots and going over why they are important.

Drive by’s are integral to the out of home industry – it’s how billboard operators have always shown clients their boards and the traffic around it. This makes a drive by one of the most important shots to take of your board, as it shows advertisers exactly what your target audience sees as they drive by. When taking these shots, be sure you’ve stabilized the camera and make sure your windshield is clean for a crystal clear image. Anything less, and you’ll have a shaky video with lots of smudges, giving your board a bad impression.

The second type of shot you need to take is a little easier. Ground photos are a great way to show what the board looks like with traffic in front of it. Say your drive by went well, was clear, but you only see one car in front of you! With ground photos, you can make sure you’re capturing multiple cars at multiple angles, giving your board the look you want – lots of traffic.

The third best shots of your board are videos from the air. Drive by’s take care of what the board looks like. Ground photos take care of the board’s looks and traffic count. Drone video takes care of everything else. You’ll be able to see the board in all it’s glory, the traffic it gets from a mile away, AND what shops and popular destinations surround it. This is great for your advertisers to see, as it is a visual representation of the demographics they’re looking to reach.

Putting all of this together makes sure that you’ve got everything necessary to show your ad space in it’s best light.
