Reader Feedback on Whether OOH Clients Are Paying Slower

Mixed views as to whether out of home clients are paying slower.

Grey Outdoor’s Grey Vick had slow pays from April to July but things have improved since October.

We saw an increase in average receivables from April to July. A similar increase to what Lamar has experienced. However in October we were able to get mostly back to pre-covid receivable levels and most of the accounts that had slowed down are caught back up and on track.

Integration Media’s Terry Carmody says agencies are paying slower.

Agencies are definitely taking longer to pay during the pandemic on most of their accounts.

Allison Outdoor’s Claude Dicks say collections are good.

Our billing is down compared to last year by 1.5% but we’ve collected more this year than last year by 1%. So we’re actually doing better on that front this year than last.

New South Outdoor’s Neil Bell only the agencies are paying slower.

Looking at our AR, the only folks who seem to be taking a little longer to pay are a few of the agencies that we work with… We are still collecting an average of around 96% of the previous month’s billing each following month.

Meadow Outdoor’s Chris Zukin says work with your clients and spend the time you need.

Our AR is currently in very good shape, as good or better than one year ago. In March and April we worked with many clients who were forced to close due to the Covid lockdown. Each solution for each client was a custom fit, but we arranged to keep all of them on their same heritage billboard locations. Those businesses are now back open and making money and paying their billboard bills. That is part of our good AR situation. The other reason is our Credit Manager, Cimmie,  who has spent a lot of time during the last 6 months working with all of our clients and keeping us top of mind.
