Chattanooga, Tennessee-based PlainView LED is expanding operations with a new assembly plant.

The 10,500-square foot facility was purchased March 24 of this year, as the COVID-19 pandemic began to rock Tennessee. PlainView LED staff members completed building renovations in just 45 days.

“The ‘pause’ in the economy allowed us time to devote 100% attention in improvements, inventory and streamline [the] assembly process,” Derek Markey, Plainview LED COO, said of the pandemic. “We expanded operations as others slowed down.”

Work on the plant is nearly complete and production will begin in early June.  Plans for the assembly plant have been underway since 2018. The assembly plant marks PlainView LED’s official move to assemble their products in the United States.

Dealer partners and billboard operators have already installed PlainView LED products coast to coast, from Philadelphia to Washington state.

Interviews for assembly technicians and an assembly plant manager are underway.

“I knew 10 years ago when the first digital signs began to hit the market that this is where the sign industry was going, and I wanted to be part of it,” said Todd Plain, CEO of PlainView LED. “After selling digital signs for the past 10 years all over the United States, I’m excited to expand our company and begin assembling our own digital signs in my hometown of Chattanooga.

“This allows us to educate and train our billboard and dealer partners on how to maintain and operate their signs. There is no substitute for hands-on training and knowing that we are here to help with any questions that they might have.”

With the development of the new standardized (UL approved) Signature Series LED Smart Module, PlainView LED is set up to seamlessly build large format (digital billboards), small format (digital business signs or EMCs), and scoreboards using the same product and parts.

The company has also developed its own proprietary software, Spotlight, to allow users to enjoy a more intuitive approach to creating and scheduling their content.

According to Small Business Association, businesses can increase their sales by 15-150% with an on-premise EMC. PlainView LED’s new Signature Series Digital Signs combines quality, performance, and confidence to meet every company’s digital signage needs.

Moving forward with the expansion during an unprecedented time in the United States was not an easy task. However, the PlainView LED team made themselves available during the critical time to provide technical services, parts, and sales for billboard operators and dealer partners, all the while taking safety measures and maintaining social distancing.
