Outdoorlink Redesigns Portal Based On Operator Feedback

Every billboard operator knows the drill. An alarm comes in, someone rolls a truck, and sometimes the problem turns out to be something that could have been sorted out from a desk.

The redesigned Outdoorlink Portal was built to help operators figure out what’s going on before anyone gets in a truck. After months of testing with internal teams and select customers, the new Portal is now available to all Outdoorlink customers through a simple “Switch to New” toggle.

See your whole network first

When operators switch to the new interface, a welcome tutorial walks them through what’s changed. The dashboard itself will feel familiar, with new alarms from the last 24 hours, unresolved alarms, and an inventory snapshot that includes alarming digital screens, alarming static panels, and offline units, all alongside a map. Outdoorlink is still building on it, with inventory health reports planned.

Only see what’s relevant

Operators can now choose which columns they see and filter structures by status, such as alarming, operational, needing maintenance, or bulb outages. Those settings are saved to each user’s login, so a field manager and an executive can each keep the view that fits their job. Operators with mixed inventory can also filter by static faces and digital screens.

Diagnose before you dispatch

An alarm tells operators that something is wrong. Power Readings helps show what. The redesigned Power Readings view shows each relay’s actual power draw against its expected wattage over time. Checking that trend before rolling a truck helps operators send the right person, with the right parts, the first time.

Plan from the map

The map now has the same search and filters as the structure lists and shows each structure’s status at a glance. Operators can manage a structure’s alarms, maintenance, and schedules directly from the map, which makes it easier to decide who needs to go where.

Alerts on your terms

Each user can choose exactly which alarm types reach them by email and set when a daily alarm digest arrives. Mobile push notifications are coming soon.

Smaller changes that add up

The improved import tool matches a spreadsheet’s columns to Portal fields and previews the results before anything is imported, which makes onboarding a large inventory much faster. Site alarm history now shows the full record by default, CSV exports use each unit’s local time zone, and crews can upload photos from their phones in the field.

Built from operator feedback

Throughout 2026, Outdoorlink’s engineering team shipped monthly updates and asked users the same questions after each one: What’s easier now? What do you wish it could do? What did you used to be able to do that you can’t anymore? Several features, including the new map tools, came directly from those answers.

Switching over

Customers can flip between the new interface and the Classic view with a toggle at the top of the screen, and switch back anytime. A finalized mobile layout is expected later this year, and Outdoorlink plans to move all users to the new Portal in early 2027 once customers are comfortable with it.

“Same tools, same information, just organized so operators can see what matters faster,” said Tasha Mayes, Director of Sales at Outdoorlink.
