Outdoor Advertising Association of West Virginia Has Restarted

WV Outdoor President & CEO, Bill Lodzinski, along with Lamar VP/GM, Shane Walters have been working on an initiative to restart the Outdoor Advertising Association of West Virginia.  Lodzinski organized a meeting in Charleston recently with West Virginia OOH companies to work out the details.  Kerry Yoakum, OAAA SVP Government Affairs and Jim Vlasach, Lamar VP Regional Development and OAAP President, were on hand to assist along with representatives from the following companies:

  • Bill Lodzinski – WV Outdoor
  • John Liller – WV Outdoor
  • Shane Walters – Lamar- Wheeling
  • Rueben Blankenship – Lamar – Bridgeport
  • Mark Cannon- Lamar – Bluefield
  • Lisa Keefer – Lamar- Huntington
  • Bruce Morrison– Lamar – Huntington
  • George Foster – Lamar – Altoona
  • Brian Conley – Link Media
  • Todd McCoy – Logan Outdoor

Operators that plan to be involved but couldn’t make the meeting:

  • Greg Hicks, Hicks Outdoor
  • Scott Kegerreis , Kegerreis Outdoor
  • Russ Bonasso, Micro Outdoor
  • Joey Smith, Friendly Outdoor

Bill Lodzinski also shared some additional information:

Bill, how long had it been since the WV state association was last active?

 From what I understand, it was disbanded almost 10 years ago…2014.

Do you have an initial group of officers yet?

 Not yet.  We are revising the By-Laws and plan on having an annual meeting in July of 2024 in keeping with OAAWV fiscal year beginning July 1.  Officers will be elected at that time.

Are there any state issues which are priorities for the association?   

 Nothing pressing right now, but we want a unified front if and when we have state issues that affect the industry.  One of the initiatives is for us to build up a war chest for those scenarios.  Also, strengthen our relationships with state and local legislatures, as well as the WVDOT.
