Insider asked Paul Wright and Carson Frost of Signvalue about out of home trends to watch in 2020 and here’s what they said.

What are the out of home stories to watch in 2020?

(1)  One of the stories that everyone should be watching is the deployment of non-traditional digital displays.  Those are the kinds of things that are out of the box in terms of their architecture and shape, size, location.  Those kinds of non-traditional deployments are becoming the cornerstone of many small operators plans.

(2)  We’re going to see a lot of creative government partnerships where you might have a developer come in and provide infrastructure for a government agency and in return a government agency may permit a developer to build digital signage…I think we’re going to see a lot more of that in 2020.

(3)  Programmatic buying systems may start to consolidate late next year…there are a lot of programmatic buying systems…so we think that we’ll see some consolidation.

(4)  We may see some additional ad dollars shifting out of traditional media and into out of home…We think that’s a big part of the industry’s strong revenue growth and we think that will continue into 2020.
