New and Noted: Streaming Wars, Attribution and Digimedia

“The streaming services know they have to break through with consumers” says Clear Channel Outdoor Chief Revenue Officer Bob McCuin in Bloomberg’s Billboards Love Streaming Wars Because That’s where Ads End up.  The Bloomberg thesis is that out of home is a clear winner in the streaming services wars as Apple, Walt Disney and Amazon look to promote their services.   Insider heard OUTFRONT, Lamar and Clear Channel Outdoor execs mention the positive effects of the streaming wars  on their third quarter conference calls.

Digimedia, the company which was trying to end run Wash DC digital sign regulations, paid money to a consulting firm owned by a Wash DC city councilman in an attempt to get favorable treatment.  The company also encouraged employees to give money to a congressional candidate supported by the city councilman.  In April 2019 Digimedia’s former CEO Don MacCord was sentenced to $1.4 million of restitution and 30 months of jail for fraud while running Digimedia.
