The May 2019 issue of police chief has an article about how out of home helps public safety officials with fugitive hunts and missing person searches.

FEPE (the Federation European Publicite Exterieur) the global organization representing out of home media owners, associations and agencies is rebranding to the World Out of Home Organization.   The name change reflects the fact that the organization now has members from the US, UK, Australia, Latin America, India and China.

16:9 reports that a man has been arrested for smashing 42 LinkNYC digital OOH smart city  kiosks.One of the risks of smart screens is that they are close to consumers and can be vandalized.

Out of home investment banker Mark Boidman of PJ Solomon presented a talk titled Fast Forward: Market Update and 2019 Predictions at the FEPE conference last week.  You can read Boidman’s 36 page powerpoint here.   The talk has a European focus but two predictions caught Insider’s eye:

  1. Social media shares turn an out of home campaign into a digital advertising campaign without additional expense.
  2. Drones will reduce out of home maintenance costs and improve proof of play.
