A member of the Pink Floyd band is helping to fund the Shinnecock Nation’s fight  to erect digital billboards in New York State.  “It’s like the state is trying to starve the nation into submission” Waters says.  The State of New York alleges that the structures pose a risk if they block the highway during an evacuation and that neither of the structures is on Shinnecock land.  Insider thinks the safety claim is baseless and expects the Shinnecock nation to0 win its case.  In November New Republic weighed in with an article sympathetical to the Shinnecock Nation.
