Magna Global September 2020 Advertising Revenue Update

Magna Global’s released the Sept 2020 Ad forecast update this week.  Magna US out of home revenues will be down 22% for the first half of 2020, 18% for the full year 2020 and up 4% for 2021.  Here’s the table.

Some interesting things in the forecast.

  • Covid has had a limited impact on online, social media and mobile due to an acceleration in e-commerce.  They will grow in excess of 10% during 2020 and by another 9-12% during 2021.
  • Covid will impact TV (down 15-20% in 2020), out of home (down 18%) and print (down 27%) the most during 2020 as branding campaigns were cut.
  • Out of home and national TV will rebound the fastest from COVID in 2020 with 4% and 5% growth, respectively.  Print, radio and local TV will continue to decline.
