Lamar Increases Dividend By 50 %

BATON ROUGE, La., Feb. 25, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lamar Advertising Company (Nasdaq: LAMR), a leading owner and operator of outdoor advertising and logo sign displays, announces that its board of directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.75 per share payable on March 31, 2021 to stockholders of record of Lamar’s Class A common stock and Class B common stock on March 22, 2021. Subject to the approval of its board of directors, Lamar expects aggregate quarterly distributions to stockholders in 2021, including the dividend payable on March 31, 2021, will total $3.00 per common share.

Insider’s Take: Another sign that Lamar is moving past the coronavirus slump.   Lamar has increased its dividend in each of the past two quarters.

March 2020.          $1.00 per share

June 2020.             $0.50 per share

September 2020.   None

December 2020.    $0.50 per share

March 2021.            $0.75 per share.

 Insider expects Lamar’s dividend to return to $1.00 which equates to a 4-5% dividend yield before the end of 2021.  Lamar reports earnings today.  The consensus expects a 10.5% year over year decline in revenues, much better than the 30% plus revenue declines at Clear Channel and OUTFRONT.  Lamar closed the day down 3.7% which the S&P 500 was down 2.5%, OUTFRONT was down 5.5% and Clear Channel Outdoor was down 12.5%.
