Lamar Expands Its Airport Business With Acquisition

The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report writes that Lamar will be acquiring Atlanta based Corey Airport Services. The sale is set to close on July 1st.

The Corey Airport Services web site indicates that Billy Corey first established Corey Companies as a billboard advertising company in Atlanta. The company eventually expanded into other outlets such as radio, gaming stations, stadium sponsorships and even the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. In 2002, they added airport advertising to their portfolio. Corey Airport Services is the exclusive advertising contractor for a growing number of airports nationwide, crafting and executing high-quality branding experiences that reach tens of millions of travelers every year.

Insider reported last week that the Corey Outdoor signs were sold to LinkMedia.

Corey’s web site shows they provide both static and digital OOH services at the following airports:

  • Dallas Love Field
  • Louisville International
  • Palm Springs International
  • Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport
  • Myrtle Beach International
  • Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International
  • Punta Gorda Airport
  • Monterey Regional Airport
  • Amarillo International

The Business Report article indicates that the acquisition should add another $10 million in annual revenues to Lamar’s airport business, taking the total to $38 – $40 million.
