Kendrick J Turner’s Let Freedom Ring is Still Attempting Scams

Insider has posted before that your out of home company needs to avoid dealing with Kendrick J Turner’s Let Freedom Ring.  He asks to run a long term civil rights message on your billboards with payment via ACH.  The ACH never happens or is rejected.  Insider is aware of six out of home companies Turner has tried to scam, including a Southeastern out of home company just last week.  Don’t be a victim. We’ve reprinted our June 19 article on Kendrick J Turner below.

Beware This Scam

There are plenty of great civil rights and black lives matter groups you should work with.   One to avoid is Kendrick J Turner’s Let Freedom Ring.  He’s attempted to scam at least five out of home companies.  Insider received this account from Whistler Outdoor on their dealings with Kendrick J. Turner and Let Freedom Ring Civil Rights Organization.

I wanted to give you a heads up about a man who is targeting outdoor advertising companies across the country. He contacted us last week about advertising for Let Freedom Ring Civil Rights Organization. He provided ACH information to prepay the 12 month contract. As is our common policy, we started running his art upon receipt of the signed contract and payment information. Shortly after, we became aware that he had scammed multiple media companies across the country. We took his ads down almost immediately after starting, while waiting for payment confirmation. As expected, the ACH was rejected. We have already been contacted by another provider in South Carolina who was provided pictures on our boards as proof we are working with him.  At this point, we aren’t out much other than time and interruptions in our day, but I thought it might be helpful to send a warning out to the other providers to keep them from spending their valuable time on a similar situation.

Here’s what Insider’s research has revealed.  Craigslist Norfolk has a page with several  2019 and 2020 complaints against Turner for bouncing checks, evictions and alleged theft of a computer.  A mobile billboard operator has filed a Ripoff Report complaint against Kendrick J Turner for theft of advertising services.  In March 2019 WZDX reported that Turner never paid for $3,000 for block airtime purchased from a Huntsville, AL gospel radio station.  The article stated “According to Virginia court documents, Turner owed thousands of dollars in judgements to people who took him to court, including almost $14,000 in Virginia beach alone.”  In 2004 Turner pleaded guilty to election fraud.
