JCDecaux, Bauer and Global CEO’s to appear at WOOH June congress.

The leaders of the UK’s big three Out of Home media owners – Dallas Wiles, Co-CEO of JCDecaux, Justin Cochrane, President and CEO Outdoor at Bauer Media and Global Chief Commercial Officer  Mike Gordon – will appear together for the first time on a panel looking in-depth at the state of UK Out of Home, at the World Out of Home Organization’s Annual Congress in London from June 3-5.

The Congress will be held at the Park Lane Hilton with a record number of delegates expected.

There is evidence that the UK OOH Market has been losing share recently against rival media. WOO President Tom Goddard will be asking Wiles, Cochrane, and Gordon whether UK Media Owners back cross-industry marketing efforts as much as needed, despite its status as a major force in both UK and global media. WOO evidence shows that powerful and united national trade association bodies can play a significant role in increasing share.

Among the issues to be addressed will be:

  • A perceived lack of sector focus,
  • Industry level marketing and collaboration
  • Benchmarking the resource behind the industry trade body – Outsmart
  • Whether the industry is doing enough to demonstrate the medium’s undoubted effectiveness
  • How the industry can better promote and support creative standards, one of its main strengths.
  • What more can be done to leverage consumer trust in the medium in contrast to the criticism aimed at Big Tech

President Goddard says: “It’s a huge coup for WOO to get these three on the same panel, discussing some of the most pressing issues in UK Out of Home. What they say, will provide an invaluable insight into the industry in the UK and, you never know, may even be the trigger for some much-needed, new initiatives.”
