IBO Goes International – Meet Bishopp Outdoor

At the IBO conference last week Insider had the chance to meet Brad Bishopp, CEO and Managing Director of  Bishopp Outdoor Advertising, headquartered in Brisbane, Australia.  Having had a recent visit to Australia, I was pleased to get a chance to visit with Brad who had come to the IBO spring conference to get a sense of how the independent operator group functioned.

With a population of a little over 26 million, and lots of sparsely populated open space, Australia does not have nearly the number of independents, like the US, to create an IBO type organization. They do have the Outdoor Media Association which serves 32 members in Australia, primarily larger companies. Needless to say, Brad appreciated the opportunity to meet and share ideas with IBO members and hopes to come back to the fall conference and bring along a few of his key employees.
