And with the completion of a very short online form (about two pages worth), attaching two quarters worth of 941’s and a couple of utility invoices,  we reached the end of our PPP odyssey.

Some Insider takeaways from the process:

• We say we are done, but we still don’t know for certain if the forgiven loan will be taxable income at year end.
• The process for simplified forgiveness is only for loans of $50,000 or less.  Congress needs to increase the number to at least $150,000.
• It would be nice to see a potential for additional grants to all small businesses.  Covid has lasted longer than was originally contemplated and while our industry has held up fairly well, we have a number of customer categories that have been hurt badly by the different state restrictions.
