DPAA Launches UK Chapter of WE.DOOH

LONDON AND NEW YORK – August 11 2026 – DPAA, the global trade marketing association, driving the growth and digitisation of out-of-home media and its growing role in the omnichannel mix, has today announced the launch of a new UK chapter of its Women’s Empowerment in Digital Out of Home (WE.DOOH) initiative.

WE.DOOH UK kicks off its year-round activities with its first IRL event on Thursday 13 August in London, hosted by DPAA and its UK Advisory Council Chairperson Camille Andrews, head of media sales at London City Airport. The event takes place aboard the stunning Sunborn London Yacht Hotel at Royal Victoria Dock in association with London City Airport and is sponsored by Daktronics. To request an invitation to attend, visit DPAA’s events site and contact DPAA Executive Director, EMEA, Tim Waldron.

Said Andrews: “I am delighted to be working with a team of like-minded individuals keen to build upon DPAA’s successful WE.DOOH initiative for the UK market. Very excited our first initiative will be a long overdue networking event, bringing together, in a relaxed environment, some of the amazing women who help make up the UK OOH industry.”

This was announced as nominations open for WE.DOOH’s annual Leading Women in Digital Media Awards. The awards program was developed to recognise outstanding female leadership at DPAA member companies.

“We formed WE.DOOH to spotlight the empowerment of women across our industry and around the world, so it is fitting that as we continue to expand our reach globally, we likewise expand this important program in the UK,” said DPAA President & CEO Barry Frey. “The contributions of women to growing the DOOH industry, our member companies, and the professional development and advancement of other women rising through the ranks deserve much more attention. By launching WE.DOOH in the UK, holding more in-person events, and honoring those receiving Leading Women in Digital Awards, we hope to make our own contribution to this cause through real connections, conversation, and community.”

DPAA members can submit nominations (deadline: 2 September 2026) across three categories — Rising Star (recognizing emerging female leaders), Unsung Hero (women whose work, actions or activities often go unseen, but have advanced the DOOH industry), and Vanguard (experienced leader who looks to advance women in the industry as well as the industry itself). Winners will be decided upon by members of the WE.DOOH Advisory Board, and they will be invited to be recognized at the DPAA Global Video Everywhere Summit on 13 October at Chelsea Piers in NYC.
