Morgan, a transplanted Brit and professional photographer has posted high quality photos of billboards in Los Angeles for the past 11 years. Insider talked with Jason about his decision to close his blog today.
What’s been your most popular billboard post over the past 11 years.
I’ve always had a soft spot for this 3D billboard for The Lorax movie from 2012.
What tips do you have for people when they photograph billboards?
Depends if you’re doing it for a client or yourself. Clients always want to see lots of traffic in the shot, whilst I’ve always just liked taking advantage of the beautiful blue California sky to showcase the billboards.
What’s led to your decision to shut the site?
I moved to Palm Springs during the pandemic to get away from L.A., so the travel back and forth has been a big factor.
What’s next for you?
Sipping cocktails around the pool and taking the summer off.
