Toby Outdoor was founded in 1984 by Jim Troy. Jim’s career in the outdoor business began as an apprentice in operations and sign maintenance in 1971. This apprenticeship lasted 7 years, thru high school and college.  Toby Outdoor operates their billboard plant in northern North Carolina and Southern Virginia.  Toby Outdoor is an Operator Associate in IBOUSA.

Toby Outdoor has concentrated billboard coverage in Ashe, Wilkes, Yadkin and Rowan Counties in North Carolina as well as Carroll and Grayson Counties in Virginia. Primary routes served include: I-77, I-85, US-21, US-52, US-58, US-221, US-421, and US-601, as well as other state highways.
