TDO stands for Toledo Detroit Outdoor Advertising.  The firm was founded in 2015 and operates more than 100 digital and static billboard faces.  The largest concentration of billboards is in Toledo, Ohio and SE Michigan.  TDO has several account executives on the sales team. Lafe Schneider is TDO’s President.

Lafe, how did you get into the out of home business? 

I started in the OOH business during the summer of my junior year in college as I was hired by Billy Long and Phil Vasquez as an intern for one year at CBS Outdoor in the Pompano, FL office. I simply fell in love with the business/industry. Upon graduation I was hired as an account executive. I’m forever grateful for the internship that I received as I learned so much about the industry as a whole.

Whose digital billboards do you use and what have you learned?

In the past several years we have used Electro-Matic based out of Farmington Hills, MI for our digital conversions/new builds. Utilizing a manufacture that has phenomenal customer service, maintenance warranties, and efficiency are all so important. If an issue arises with one of our boards the problem is solved within 24 hours normally.  I’ve learned so much in dealing with the leases, real estate, and the construction side of the business on these digital builds.

What are some of your priorities for next year.

Most importantly, getting out of this COVID funk. Both Michigan and Ohio have been severely impacted with restrictions, etc. Other priorities for this next year is growing our revenue with new business sales and expanding our digital plant both in Michigan and in Ohio.
