Riley Outdoor was formed in August 2005 and owns a 200 face billboard plant in 11 counties in eastern North Carolina.  Robert Moore is President.  The company is named after Moore’s daughter Riley.  Robert Moore also owns Patriot outdoor which has 110 faces.  Riley Outdoor deployed their first digital face in Greenville, NC in November 2007 a 10’x30’ Daktronics Digital.  Insider wrote a story on the sign’s 10 year anniversary

Tell us about the company’s history

Riley Outdoor was started in August 2005.  We sold Eastern Outdoor to Next Media Group in August 2005 and Riley Outdoor was born out of that transaction. 

Robert, what’s new since we talked a year ago?

As we sit here in mid-november we see little indication of a cooling economy.  We are up year over year about 14%.  We added about 28 faces thus far in 2022 with a few more planned.
Are you using any of the automated sales platforms yet?
We have not signed up for any of the automated platforms as we are still in a wait and see mode on this.  Local sales continue to be really strong and
those are usually longer term agreements that we have some control over that ad spend.   The automated platforms are usually much shorter agreements that we have virtually no control over that spend.  We will continue to monitor the automated space but I still feel there are some choke points that need to be worked thru so all parties can be aligned as our business becomes a more digital dominant platform.  Automated ad sales has a tremendous amount of potential in our business.
