Porlier Outdoor operates a 400 face billboard plant including 6 digital faces between St Louis and Kansas City.  The firm was founded 1988 by Brent Porlier and is run by President Melissa Porlier.  Here are some of the highlights of our conversation last year with Melissa.

You grew up in the business didn’t you.

I did and some of my earliest memories are dropping by signs with my dad so he could wind time clocks, playing with my sisters in the family van while my dad climbed the structure to replace lightbulbs or sitting quietly at an occasional City Hall while some permit matter was discussed. Those days are long past us and our technology has drastically improved but now I’m the one frequenting the City Halls. This will be my tenth year with the company but prior to coming on board, it always felt like a member of the family.

What 3-4 things do you focus on to manage Porlier? 

My focus for some time has been real estate and sales. We sadly lost a key employee last year to cancer and our team really rallied to come together and move forward as a group. Administrative operations are now under my belt but we have such a great administrative team to help carry out all the needs of the company.
