Myrtle beach outdoor operates a plant of bulletins, jr bulletins and digital displays in North and South Carolina.  In October 2019 Myrtle Beach sold 14 billboard faces in Florence South Carolina billboards to Grey Outdoor.   The company was started in 1996.  Anne Jernigan is the company’s Managing Member.

Anne, how did you enter the out of home advertising business? 

I taught High School and loved it but left to get into sales so I could control my salary.  I was hired as a sales rep for Coastal Outdoor Advertising in Myrtle Beach.  I was then moved to the sales manager position.  I left Coastal Outdoor in 2008 to buy in to and manage Myrtle Beach Outdoor.

Tell us about your plant. 

When I joined the company in 2008 we had very little inventory.  Only in Columbus and Bladen counties in North Carolina.  Today have expanded now into NC – Columbus, Bladen, Brunswick counties and SC – Horry, Georgetown, Florence county.

We pride ourselves on  excellent personal service.  Our office is in Whiteville, NC because that’s where the company originated.

Who’s digital signs do you use and what have you learned?

We have a digital location in the heart of Myrtle Beach .  Formetco product.   We have a two sided digital unit in Whitevile, NC – Daktronics.  Both excellent products.  I’ve learned much.  I’ve learned that outdoor is very effective in a “driving” economy.
