Mountain Outdoor operates a billboard company in East Tennessee.  Insider talked with Dwight and Justin Church.

How did Mountain Outdoor get into the billboard business?

Mountain Outdoor started in 1993. We have been in the convenient store and restaurant business and started putting structures on our properties. We steadily grew our business over the years by building on our own properties and adding boards and by acquiring existing boards. We currently own and operate 83 faces in Knox County and Sevier County in East Tennessee. Dwight and son, Justin, are also in the restaurant and real estate business.

Whose digital billboards do you use and what have you learned.

Unfortunately digital is not allowed in the areas where our boards are. If/when digital boards do get permitted, we will be ready to convert some of our boards to digital.

What are 3 priorities for your company over the next 12 months?

Our current focus in our company is leasing our boards and keeping our customers happy. We are also working on converting all of our structure to LED lights.
