Fruitland Outdoor is a family owned billboard company that operates in the upstate of South Carolina.   The company is owned and operated by Joey Lemmons who founded the company.  Insider talked with Trey Lemmons.

First of all, we are honored to be Billboard Insiders’ company of the day! Here at Fruitland Outdoor we are proud of where we came from and excited for our future.  We were started by my father Joey Lemmons who has been in the billboard business for 40 years and counting! The name Fruitland originated when we were started in the “peach land” of South Carolina. Joey came from a peach farming family in Gaffney, SC and graduated from Clemson University in 1981. He started his own peach brokering business right out of college naming the business Fruitland Sales. Joey created his billboard business of Fruitland Outdoor as a tribute to the peach business he grew up in.

Fruitland Outdoor is a proud, family owned billboard business that values honesty, integrity, and customer service.  We strive to provide the best outdoor advertising locations for businesses in our area to help them grow their reach. We firmly believe in outdoor advertising and understand the power of billboards. Something that makes us passionate about our business is that we are 100% family owned and operated.  When you reach out to us, you’ll be reaching out to one of the family members involved.  My brother, Leland Lemmons acts as a sales representative as well as our billboard maintenance & construction manager.  My brother-in-law Cole Israel acts as a sales representative and accounting manager.  My mother, Kathy Lemmons works in our customer service department, and I manage the digital billboards while also acting as a sales representative.  My father, Joey Lemmons is the president and sales manager of the company who handles our big picture goals.  We are so proud to be a true, family owned and operated billboard business.  We understand all levels of the billboard business, and my brother and I even worked our weekends and summers as sign installers during high school and college. We started our transition into our positions that we have now during college and have learned from our experiences at all the levels of the billboard business. Our brother-in-law Cole brings his expertise in accounting and manages our entire accounting department.

In February of 2021 we completed construction of our first digital location which has two digital faces in downtown Spartanburg, SC.  Since then, we have added an additional 9 digital faces to our inventory and have no intent of stopping our growth.  We understand the importance of constant growth so that we are able to offer the best of outdoor advertising service to our clients.  We are on track to build another 4 digital locations by the end of summer of 2022 and will continue to add more beyond that.  We are also excited to announce we are working with onescreen.ai and tapping into their powerful tools and new platform to help grow our company awareness.  We decided to partner with onescreen.ai because of their shared passion for out-of-home advertising and their determination to help growth the industry.

Joey Lemmons started in the billboard business in the 80’s because of his belief in the power that billboards bring value to businesses trying expanding their reach.  Today we still hold the same belief, and as one of his sons we promise to continue the drive to expand and provide the best outdoor advertising locations for our clients.  Our goal will always be to offer our clients the best locations to advertise their business and to continue the growth of our company.  As a Christian owned company we promise to always operate our business with integrity and share the love of Jesus above all else.
