Arrington Outdoor Advertising was founded in the late 90’s by David Arrington and Mike Wolverton. The partners believed with David’s oil & gas experience and Mike’s real estate and marketing experience that owning and operating billboards just made sense.  Since that time Arrington Outdoor has built and acquired over over 650 traditional billboard faces and own and operate a dozen digital faces. Their advertising reach extends to over 30 counties in North Texas with most being within a two hour drive of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.

Mike recalls the humor of their very first billboard located near Texas Motor Speedway in Denton County.

“We attended an OAAA event in Washington DC and we were just exploring getting into the business. I asked a seasoned fellow what type of billboard structure we should build and the gentleman explained that you should definitely build a poster panel sign so you can sell it to Clear Channel (Poster panels are the signs where paper is rolled on by hand and comes off very easily, sometimes too easily).

I heeded his advice and decided a poster panel was the way to go. I was too ignorant at the time to know I could hire somebody to build the sign turn key so I ordered the parts all separately. We ended up climbing up and down the sign and pretty much built the thing ourselves.

When a storm came a few years later and took half of the sign away it confirmed we had no business building the signs. We still own that sign and never sold it. Looking back on it now I think that fellow must have worked for Clear Channel!”

Currently Arrington Outdoor’s Texas billboard inventory goes east as far as Tyler, south to Waco, west to Midland and north to the Red River. The company are members of OAAA, IBO and Geopath.
