Action Outdoor is a family owned company with over 25 years experience in the out of home business.  The company operates a billboard plant in Louisiana.  Insider talked with Austin Aucoin

How did you get into the out of home business.

My father, Thane, has been in the outdoor advertising business since the 70’s. He originally sold Action Outdoor Advertising to Lamar in 2004. I graduated from LSU in 2015 just as his 10 year non-compete ended. In the past 6 years, we have built numerous 12 x 12 Jr billboards, 12 x 24 static and digital billboards, 10 x 36 static and digital billboards, and stacked 10 x 36 static billboards in Louisiana.

Who’s digital signs do you use and what’s been your experience.

All my digitals are currently Watchfire Signs. Anytime I have a problem, Watchfire’s customer service answers my call right away and walks me through the problem. I have had times where things have gone out on the billboard and Watchfire stood behind their warranty and replaced it free of charge. I highly suggest anyone in the market for a digital screen to give John Carter at Watchfire a call.

What are some of your goals for 2021.

My goal for 2021 is to continue GROWING. Last year with Covid we did not build many structures because of the uncertainty with the economy. We built a 12 x 12 JR billboard at the beginning of this year.
