Ace Outdoor operates four high profile billboard structures with 7 faces on Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.  Ace is managed by Andrew Bilanzich who was a punter for the 1995 Nebraska cornhuskers national championship football team during college.  The company has been redesigning its signs at the request of the city to make them architecturally interesting.  Insider interviewed Andrew Bilanzich.

When we talked last February you mentioned that there were a couple redevelopment projects which could be some of your best yet.  Anything come of this?

Yes, we were able to build one of the signs at 8462 W Sunset and we are going to City Council on another unit on January 23.  To the right you can see a picture of the sign at  8462 W Sunset.  I will let you know what becomes of the other project at the City Council Meeting on the 23rd. 

Any plans to convert your static boards to digital?

We would love to, however, in the City of West Hollywood where we operate they are not allowed at this time.  We are watching and considering it, but we really want to make sure we do not impede or distract any of the nearby homes in the Hollywood Hills.  We truly want to be good neighbors and work with the community prior to doing any.    

What’s your view of digital?

I like it, and think it is the wave of the future.  I do not currently have any, but hopefully that will change in the near future.
