Claude Dicks on Allison Outdoor’s Latest Purchase and Small Market Digital

Marty Williamson announced Revelation Outdoor’s sale of a digital structure to Allison Outdoor.  We talked with Claude Dicks, President of Allison Outdoor about their purchase.

You recently purchased a structure from Morgan Hudgens at Revelation Outdoor.  Can you give us the particulars on the structure?
The structure includes Back to Back 10 x 30 Digital’s and is located in Hiawassee, Georgia. They are both Formetco brand digital’s.
 
Where is Hiawassee, Georgia? Does the new structure fit well within the Allison Outdoor footprint?
Hiawassee, Georgia is a beautiful area in Northeast Georgia. The Structure is directly across from Lake Chatuge with lots of marinas, restaurants, lodging and entertainment. The structure is smack dab in the middle of our Georgia market, so this made total sense to try and pick it up.
 
What criteria do you use in evaluating building or purchasing a board in a smaller market? 
We now have at least one digital in every market we serve in Georgia. Our criteria is to be able to have a mix of static and digital inventory in every market, that allows digital billboards. We felt comfortable making this purchase because we have a good feel for what we can do on digital’s in this size market and we had clients requesting to get on these boards in the past and had to tell them they weren’t ours. We knew we could pick up some quick long term sales out of the gate.
 
How many digital faces does Allison now own and operate?
These 2 Digital’s make #34 and 35 for the company. And it’s the 5th and 6th we’ve picked up since Covid-19 started in early March.
