PJ SOLOMON acted as exclusive financial advisor to help CityBridge, the operator of LinkNYC secure a $200 million investment commitment from ZenFi Networks, a NYC-based digital infrastructure company. The investment will accelerate the expansion of the LinkNYC network throughout New York City, expanding 5G access and bringing free high-speed Wi-Fi and other critical services to more New Yorkers in more neighborhoods across the city.
Since its launch in 2016 by CityBridge, LinkNYC has grown to become the world’s largest and fastest free public Wi-Fi network, with nearly 10 million Wi-Fi users. The LinkNYC program has also become a platform for social services, civic engagement, education and content, including PSAs, public art and important local information. With ZenFi’s investment, LinkNYC will more than double its current footprint, expanding its free public Wi-Fi network across thousands of newly deployed 5G-enabled LinkNYC kiosks.
