Choice Media Billboard Makes New York Times

A Choice Media Billboard made a New York Times story on the coronavirus in West Texas.  The digital billboard was carrying a Masks Save Lives message in Lubbock.  The Times article is In West Texas, Lingering Distrust in Public Health Measures as Virus Spreads.  Insider talked with Choice Media President/CEO Brad Tooley.

Did you know you were going to be in the Times?

This one caught us out of left field. A friend saw this on the New York Times news feed and texted it to me. It’s our campaign that we are cooperating with the city of Lubbock to combat Covid 19.At the same time this campaign is also emphasizing that Lubbock, Tx businesses are back open and how to help the local economy. The campaign in Lubbock is designed and coordinated by Mack Owen Group and they approached us 6 weeks ago about donating PSA space on our Lubbock digitals.

Have you been running lots of PSA’s?

We’ve run more PSA’s during Covid than at any other time in my 28 year outdoor advertising career. If it’s not Covid it’s messages showing appreciation to law enforcement, messages of peace and hope.

What’s been the response?

We have had some acknowledgements of appreciation and are always glad to help any worthwhile causes.
