Billboards Over Covid, Other OOH Sectors Lag

US Billboards have completely recovered from covid and then some.  The other US out of home sectors still lag.  Here’s what Billboard Insider found after reviewing the last three years of quarterly US out of home revenues by sector as reported to the OAAA.

  • US billboard revenues are 12% above pre-covid levels.
  • Street furniture revenues are 15% below pre-covid levels.
  • Transit is 22% below pre-covid levels.
  • Place-based is off 44% from pre-covid levels as people remain slow to return to the office.

Here’s the data.  We are comparing the June 2022 quarter with the June 2019 quarter to remove the impact of seasonality.
