Ashley Amoroso on building structures to withstand storms and priorities for next year.

Ashley Amoroso, Director of Strategic Planning, Coastal Outdoor

On Tuesday Ashley Amoroso talked about Coastal Outdoor’s rebrand and website redesign.  Today she talks about designing structures to withstand storms and priorities for next year.

How do you design signs differently in the storm prone South Carolina market?

Any new structures built along our coastline are designed to withstand a 150 mph wind load.  Specifically, when we are evaluating  our existing assets that have been in our market for some time, we evaluate structural integrity in high risk zones, implementing hurricane frames to help us retain our assets so we can reduce and/or eliminate the risk of damage that we could possibly incur, which extends the life of the asset.   In doing so, we also went 100% coraplast extensions which helps in hurricane preparedness so we can react with a quicker response time to protect structures, vinyls & extensions during severe weather threats.

What are some of Coastal’s goals for next year?

As 2022 approaches, we are hopeful that we can continue to put the pandemic behind us and have an exciting outlook for what’s to come.  Studies show people are traveling again and our industry continues to be the only traditional media with consistent growth!  Although we created our website as a customer resource, we look forward to seeing them again face to face.  We continuously work on educational materials to provide our sales reps with the best tools possible to help educate our customers on why Out-of-Home should be an integral part of their core media buy.  We continue to look at developing assets, whether it be through acquisitions or organic growth. In addition, we plan to continue to give back to our community.  Coming out of the pandemic, it’s a critical time for us to help local charities & foundations as well as our customers to get them back on their feet. We love our great community and feel fortunate that we get to give back, work & live on the sandy shores of Myrtle Beach!
