WV Outdoor is a family owned out of home company serving West Virginia.  WV Outdoor was founded in 1929 by John Vickers Ray.  It is currently the largest independently owned outdoor billboard company in West Virginia, with over 1,687 faces including 47 digital screens throughout West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and Maryland.  Bill Lodzinski is the company’s President and CEO In March 2023 Lodzinski was elected to the OAAA Board of Directors.  Insider saw Lodzinski at the OAAA show and interviewed him this week.

What’s new at the company over the past year?

The past year was even better than the record breaking year we had prior! We’re very proud of that and what our team has accomplished.  As far as what’s new, nothing much other than we deployed seven digital screens in several core markets in our footprint. We also threw in a few traditional structures in the mix for good measure. As you know, we’re very aggressive and strategic when it comes to our capital expenditure goals and requirements.  Which for us, makes every new year a growth opportunity both from an expansion standpoint and revenue standpoint.
What’s your attitude to the automated sales platforms (blip, adomni, onescreen, vista, adquick)?
We have somewhat of a neutral attitude when it comes to the automated sales platforms. We see the value it has in certain markets and for certain companies, but for us, we don’t see a strong need for it right now. We’re very confident in our digital locations and the benefits we can offer to our local advertisers.  Our sales team has been very successful in leveraging their local relationships as well as being bullish about our local presence and strength in the marketplace as it relates our digital footprint.  We’ve explored the automated sales platform arena with several companies, but for now, we’re holding off.
