WTVA reports that the Indianapolis Department of Business and Neighborhood services has removed 52 bus benches with advertising following complaints and a TV report that the benches had been installed without a permit and were attracting garbage.

Fairway Outdoor has a contract with Indygo for legal bus shelter advertising.  The benches were being installed by independent companies at bus stops without having an agreement.
