Insider wrote earlier this month about using drones to get billboard footage. A reader asked Insider why bother with a drone. The reason is that a drone can get you amazing video footage of a sign. This helps sales with clients and agencies. It’s doesn’t make sense to film all your boards with a drone because of the cost, but it’s a great idea to film your best freeway boards in urban areas.
Look at this promo video of a Marquee Media billboard and you can see why Insider likes drones and sign video. Perfect intro to the sign, the location and lots and lots and lots of cars.
Insider talked with Marquee Media’s Jeff Joaquin about the company’s use of video.
Jeff, how do you incorporate sign videos in your marketing?
We try to make the client review and buying process a risk-free process; where clients can review high quality photo-sheets, POPs and a high-quality video of each of our displays. We think the videos that we are creating, better demonstrate the full value proposition of each display location. Having a client review one of our videos, can help take the guess work out of selecting the right displays to reach the right audience at the right time! It’s the next best thing to being there in person and it helps provide valuable context for each display.
What equipment do you use to film?
When it comes to filming our displays, we use multiple pieces of equipment, including bucket trucks, top line cameras, vehicle mounted camera gimbal, roof top shots for vantage points and aerial video when appropriate and where allowed.
