FBI Gives Award to North Carolina Advertising Association

FBI Charlotte chose the North Carolina Outdoor Advertising Association (NCOAA) as the 2025 Director’s Community Leadership Award (DCLA) recipient for North Carolina. The NCOAA has been an invaluable partner to the FBI Charlotte Field Office since 2020. NCOAA is the statewide trade association representing outdoor advertising operators across North Carolina.

“The FBI deeply values the North Carolina Outdoor Advertising Association’s generous donation of digital billboard space. The public is one of our most powerful partners, and when thousands of drivers see the face of a missing child, a fugitive, or a critical crime alert, those tips that help solve cases begin to flow. This partnership directly strengthens our ability to protect the community, and we are sincerely grateful for the NCOAA’s continued support and service,” said Reid Davis, special agent in charge (SAC) of the FBI Charlotte Field Office.

“Supporting our communities is a core part of the industry’s work, and NCOAA’s members are proud to utilize our medium for public service. Through our network, members promptly assist the FBI by putting time-sensitive public-safety messages in front of millions of North Carolinians where they travel every day,” said Executive Director Bugbee.

Since 1990, through the DCLA, the FBI has publicly recognized the achievements of individuals and organizations who go above and beyond the call to service by making extraordinary contributions to their communities in the areas of terrorism, cyber, drug, gang, or violence prevention and education.
