Park Outdoor operates a billboard plant with 1,500 billboards including 48 digital faces in upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania.  Park operates regional offices in Binghamton, Finger Lakes, Utica and Syracuse.  The company was started in the 1950’s. Roy Park Jr has written a history of Park Outdoor titled Sons in the Shadow.  In January 9, 2026 Rick Steele was appointed President. Insider spoke with Rick for an update on the Company.

Rick, how many billboard faces are you up to and how many of your total faces are digital?

We have 1,450 billboards, 53 digital which includes 1 panel under construction soon.

Park self funds growth. Is there a minimum hurdle rate or return on investment which you look for on new projects?

At Park Outdoor, we proudly remain a privately and family-owned business. Our Chairman-CEO and owner Roy Park Jr. carries the same enthusiasm for the business as he did when he purchased the company from his father, 50+ years ago. Our Board of Directors continues to be supportive as we deliver moderate but steady growth. The investments in new inventory are a result of a self-funded capital strategy. This creates a nimble, non-tethered approach to cash deployment. One that we are comfortable with. Operating in the “great’ State of New York, comes with challenges but our GREAT people help us overcome those challenges day in and day out. We are grateful for the team we have.
