US Out of Home Outperforms Inflation but Fails to Match Economy in 4Q 2025

Industry execs are fond of saying that out of home is a GDP+ business.  The numbers don’t bear that out.  US out of home revenues are keeping up with inflation but are trailing the US economy.  Take a look at the numbers.

  • US out of home revenues grew 4.8% in the fourth quarter of 2025 versus inflation of 2.7%.
  • US out of home revenue growth of 4.8% in the fourth quarter of 2025 failed to match the 5.6% growth rate of the US economy.
  • US out of home revenues have grown faster than the economy only once in the past 12 quarters.
  • US out of home revenues have averaged 3.1% growth for the past 12 quarters versus average growth of 5.4% for the US economy.  Out of home is a two-thirds GDP business.
