Company: LeClair CalihanLeClair Calihan was found in 2018 by Ted LeClair and Phil Calihan. The company operates 144 out of home faces including 28 digital faces. Most of the faces are in Phoenix and Tucson but the company recently entered Chicago. LeClair Calihan is a member of the OAAA and the IBOUSA. Billboard Insider talked to Ted LeClair and Phil Calihan.

How did you get into the out of home business?
Ted: It’s been a family business for the LeClairs since 1980, starting with my father who ran a billboard fabrication company for years to which I followed suit in 1999. I later got into advertising sales, but quickly learned that I had more of a passion for leasing and permitting which really helped provide me with the foundation to partner with Phil to do our own thing.
Phil: In the year 2000, I began my OOH career with Outdoor Systems Advertising (later to be known as Outfront Media) as a Sales Account Executive with a focus on selling billboard and transit displays. In 2006, I was promoted to Local Sales Manager of the Phoenix market and in 2012 was promoted to National Sales Manager of the Arizona market.
Ted: So even though the company was started in 2018, we’ve both been in OOH for over 20 years each.
Whose digital signs do you use and what have you learned?
Watchfire and MRI- We are fortunate enough to have utilized MRI’s louver technology which we think could be a game changer. But utilizing a single software to streamline all of them is pivotal.
