Brown Outdoor operates a billboard and wallscape plant with 175 faces in North Carolina. The company was started in 2002. Billboard Insider talked with founder and owner Jarrett Brown.
Jarrett, how did you enter the out of home business?
In 2002 I built a small wood billboard on family land to advertise a construction company my father owned. After the billboard was up we started getting calls from other companies wanting to rent the board. Seeing the potential for the business we built another board on the same property. This was the start of Brown Outdoor Advertising. Throughout the years I have purchased 2 small local billboard companies and tried to build a few new structures each year. For the past 7 years I have worked full time in the billboard industry.
Tell us about your plant.Brown Outdoor Advertising, LLC is a small outdoor advertising company with deep Eastern North Carolina roots. We have been in business since 2002. Brown Outdoor has steadily grown and currently has billboards of all shapes and sizes across several eastern North Carolina counties. We have a local reputation for low overhead and well placed advertising structures.
What’s new over the past year?
We built three new billboard structures and have remained 95% occupied.
